2Pac alypse Now is the debut studio album by American rapper 2Pac.It was released on November 12, 1991 by Interscope Records. The album was recorded over three weeks in early 1991, following the release of 2Pac 's debut single "Brenda's Got a Baby". It was produced by 2Pac , his stepfather Mutulu Shakur and Shock G. The album features guest appearances by The Notorious B.I.G., Big Daddy Kane and Digital Underground. The album was originally released on vinyl and cassette, the CD release was delayed due to sample clearance issues. The album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 1995 and platinum by the RIAA in 1996. 2Pac alypse Now has been ranked among the best hip hop albums of all time by publications such as Rolling Stone, Pitchfork and Complex.
