On July 25th 1952, an agreement was reached with Leeds Music Corp. to act as the exclusive licensing agent in the USA and Canada for Soviet recordings (in an attempt to stop unauthorized releases). A number of US labels would go on to license tapes from Leeds in the following years, such as Vanguard, Westminster, and Monitor Records (2).
