- Label used since ~1966. Also appears as "Gema" only. Consider adding its previous name Producciones Gema (from 1957 to ~1966) as 2nd label if it appears on the release. - Record company founded by Guillermo Álvarez Guedes, Rafael Álvarez Guedes, and Ernesto Duarte Brito in Cuba around 1957. After 1959 Cuban revolution, the company moved to Puerto Rico. Also present in other countries (like Colombia or Venezuela as Gema). Before 1960, the country of release should be Cuba. After 1960, it should be Cuba if the label is "Producciones Gema Nacionalizada", otherwise it should be Puerto Rico. Different logo with big diamond between "E" and "M" on name. On label bottom bring: "Fabricado y Distribuido por Alvarez Guedes Y Cia" with company address. On some mid to late 1970's LP pressings, labels state "Puerto Rico", while covers state "Distributed in USA".
