Wang Chung

Wang Chung

British New Wave Band

Wang Chung is a British new wave band formed in London in 1980. Originally called Huang Chung, the band consisted of Jack Hues (vocals/guitar), Nick Feldman (bass), and Darren Costin (drums). They changed their name to Wang Chung in 1983 to make the pronunciation easier for English-speaking audiences. The band achieved considerable success in the mid-1980s with hits such as "Dance Hall Days," "Everybody Have Fun Tonight," and "Let's Go!" which featured on their albums "Points on the Curve" (1984) and "Mosaic" (1986). These albums helped define the sound of the era with their catchy melodies and synth-driven pop-rock. Wang Chung's music was characterized by its blend of pop, rock, and dance elements, and they were known for their polished production and memorable hooks. Despite changes in popular music trends, Wang Chung has continued to perform and record over the years, maintaining a dedicated fan base.
