The Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France is a French radio orchestra based in Paris. Founded in 1937, it is a part of the public service broadcaster Radio France. The orchestra performs concerts primarily at the Maison de la Radio in Paris and is known for its wide-ranging repertoire, from classical to contemporary works. Over the years, it has been led by a number of distinguished conductors, including Marek Janowski, Myung-whun Chung, and currently Mikko Franck, who has been its music director since 2015. The Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France has made numerous recordings and is recognized for its interpretations of French composers as well as its commitment to contemporary music, often premiering new works.
