Southern Rock Band

Molly Hatchet is an American Southern rock band that was formed in Jacksonville, Florida, in 1971. Named after a legendary axe murderess "Hatchet Molly" who would supposedly behead her lovers with the hand tool, the band is best known for their hit song "Flirtin' with Disaster" from their second studio album of the same name. Their self-titled debut album "Molly Hatchet" was released in 1978 and established the band's hard rock sound with a Southern twist. Over the years, Molly Hatchet has undergone numerous lineup changes, but they continued to record and tour extensively. The band's sound has been characterized by its combination of bluesy rock and hard-driving guitar riffs, often incorporating elements of boogie and hard rock.
