Manic Street Preachers, often known as the Manics, are a Welsh rock band formed in 1986 in Blackwood, Caerphilly, Wales. The band consists of founding members James Dean Bradfield (lead vocals, lead guitar), Nicky Wire (bass guitar, lyrics), and Sean Moore (drums, percussion), with Richey Edwards (rhythm guitar, lyrics) serving as a key member until his disappearance in 1995. The Manics are known for their combination of alternative rock, punk rock influences, and their thought-provoking and politically charged lyrics. They gained a following with their debut album "Generation Terrorists" and went on to achieve greater success with subsequent albums such as "Everything Must Go" and "This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours," which included the hit single "If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next."
