JoBoxers

British New Wave Pop Group

JoBoxers were a British new wave group formed in 1982, featuring Dig Wayne on vocals, Rob Marche on guitar, Dave Collard on keyboards, Chris Bostock on bass, and Sean McLusky on drums. The band quickly gained popularity with their energetic blend of punk rock, soul, and pop influences. They are best known for their hit single "Boxerbeat," which reached the top of the UK charts in 1983. Their debut album "Like Gangbusters," released the same year, was also well-received and included other notable tracks such as "Just Got Lucky," which achieved success in both the UK and the US. Despite their initial success, JoBoxers' fame was relatively short-lived, and they disbanded in 1985 after releasing only two albums. Their music is often remembered for its catchy hooks and vibrant energy characteristic of the early 80s music scene.
