Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show

Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show

70s Rock Band with a Flair for Pop and Country Hits

Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show, later shortened to Dr. Hook, was an American rock band formed in Union City, New Jersey, in 1968. The band was known for their distinctive style that combined elements of rock, country, and pop music. They gained considerable fame with their hit song "The Cover of 'Rolling Stone'" in 1972, which humorously expressed their desire for fame. The band's lineup featured Ray Sawyer and Dennis Locorriere as lead vocalists, with Sawyer's eye patch and cowboy hat becoming iconic visual elements of the group.
