Art Garfunkel is an American singer, poet, and actor best known for his partnership with Paul Simon in the folk rock duo Simon & Garfunkel. Born on November 5, 1941, in Forest Hills, New York, Garfunkel rose to prominence in the 1960s with hits such as "The Sound of Silence," "Mrs. Robinson," and "Bridge Over Troubled Water."
