Dutch Progressive Metal Band

Xystus is a progressive symphonic metal band that originated in the Netherlands. Formed in 1999, the band has been known for blending heavy metal with orchestral elements, creating a distinctive sound within the metal genre. The band's lineup has included Bas Dolmans (vocals and guitar), Ivo van Dijk (drums), and Bob Wijtsma (guitar), among others. Xystus has released several albums throughout their career, with "Equilibrio" being one of their notable works. Released in 2008, "Equilibrio" is a rock opera featuring contributions from the Utrechtsch Studenten Concert, which is the oldest symphony orchestra of The Netherlands.
