Winston Wright

Winston Wright

Jamaican Reggae Keyboardist and Organist

Winston Wright was a renowned Jamaican keyboardist who made significant contributions to the rocksteady and reggae genres. Born in May Pen, Clarendon Parish, Jamaica, on July 3, 1944, he was best known for his work as a session musician in the prolific Studio One and Treasure Isle studios during the 1960s and 1970s. Wright's mastery of the Hammond organ made him a sought-after musician in the reggae scene. He played with some of the most influential acts of the time, including Tommy McCook and The Supersonics, and he was also a member of The Impact All-Stars. His keyboard skills can be heard on numerous classic recordings from that era. It's possible that this title could be confused with or related to Harry J Allstars' famous track "The Liquidator," which is known for its prominent organ part that could have been played by Wright or another keyboardist of the time.
