Waldo de los Ríos was an Argentine composer, conductor, and arranger who gained international prominence in the 1970s. Born as Osvaldo Nicolás Ferraro Gutiérrez in Buenos Aires on September 7, 1934, he moved to the United States in the 1950s and later settled in Spain. De los Ríos is best known for his ability to transform European classical music into pop arrangements. His most famous work includes the adaptation of Mozart's Symphony No. 40 into a disco arrangement that became a hit in several countries. He also worked on film scores and television themes, contributing to the popularization of classical music by making it more accessible to a wider audience. Waldo de los Ríos passed away on March 28, 1977, but his legacy continues through his innovative adaptations and contributions to the world of music.
