Hungarian Classical Violinist and Conductor

Vilmos Tátrai was a renowned Hungarian violinist and conductor, born on May 27, 1912, in Budapest, and passed away on February 21, 1999. He was particularly known for his work in classical music and as a champion of Hungarian composers. Tátrai founded the Tátrai Quartet in 1946, which became one of Hungary's leading string quartets and gained international recognition for its performances and recordings. The quartet specialized in the works of Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and Bartók, among others.
