Vapors of Morphine is a band that emerged from the remnants of the critically acclaimed alternative rock group Morphine, following the death of its lead vocalist and bassist, Mark Sandman, in 1999. The remaining members, saxophonist Dana Colley and drummer Jerome Deupree, joined forces with bassist and singer Jeremy Lyons to form Vapors of Morphine in 2009. The band continues to honor the legacy of Morphine by performing its music while also exploring new sonic territories. They have maintained the unique, low-rock sound characterized by the use of baritone saxophone, two-string slide bass, and inventive drumming. Vapors of Morphine has kept the spirit of their predecessor alive by touring internationally and releasing new material that resonates with fans of Morphine as well as attracting new listeners with their evocative and genre-blending tunes.
