Uuno Klami

Uuno Klami

Finnish Classical Composer and Conductor

Uuno Klami (1900–1961) was a Finnish composer who is considered one of the most significant symphonists from Finland after Jean Sibelius. His work was heavily influenced by French and Russian music, and he is particularly known for his colorful orchestration and the use of folk elements from Finnish mythology, especially the Kalevala, which is Finland's national epic. Klami's compositions include a wide range of genres, such as symphonies, concertos, chamber music, and ballets.
