Torque

Torque was a groove metal band formed in 1994 by former Vio-lence guitarist Phil Demmel. The band's style was a blend of thrash metal with more groove-oriented elements, which was quite popular in the metal scene during the 1990s. Torque released their self-titled debut album in 1996, which showcased their aggressive riffs and rhythmic precision. Although the band did not achieve mainstream success, they were recognized within the metal community for their contribution to the genre. After Torque disbanded, Phil Demmel went on to join Machine Head, another influential metal band, where he further developed his career as a guitarist and songwriter until his departure in 2018.
