Tom Krause

Finnish Operatic Baritone

Tom Krause (July 5, 1934 – December 6, 2013) was a distinguished Finnish baritone who had a prolific career in both opera and concert performances. He was renowned for his rich voice and dramatic intensity, which made him particularly well-suited for the works of Mozart, Strauss, and Wagner. Krause studied at the Vienna Music Academy and made his operatic debut in Berlin in 1959. Over the years, he performed at many of the world's leading opera houses, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Royal Opera House in London, and La Scala in Milan.
