Tina Brooks was an American jazz tenor saxophonist and composer. Born Harold Floyd Brooks on June 7, 1932, in Fayetteville, North Carolina, he was active as a musician during the late 1950s and early 1960s. Brooks is known for his soulful playing style and his work with some of the leading jazz musicians of his time, including trumpeter Lee Morgan and pianist Horace Silver. Despite his considerable talent, Tina Brooks struggled with health issues and substance abuse, which hampered his career.
