English Renaissance Composer and Organist

Thomas Morley (1557/1558 – October 1602) was an English composer, theorist, singer, and organist of the Renaissance period. He is one of the most famous composers of secular music in Elizabethan England and was a significant figure in the development of the English madrigal. Morley took his musical education under William Byrd and gained a Bachelor of Music degree from Oxford. He was appointed as the organist at St Paul's Cathedral in London and later became a Gentleman of the Chapel Royal.
