David Bowie was a British singer, songwriter, and actor who had a significant impact on the music industry with a career spanning over five decades. His breakthrough came with the 1969 release of "Space Oddity," and he achieved superstardom with his glam rock alter ego Ziggy Stardust, introduced on the 1972 album "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars." Bowie's eclectic range of musical styles included rock, pop, electronic, and experimental music. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 and continued to influence artists across various genres until his death in 2016. His final album, "Blackstar," was released just two days before he passed away and was seen as his parting gift to fans, showcasing his innovative spirit until the end.
