Thee Headcoatees

Thee Headcoatees

British Garage Rock Girl Group

Thee Headcoatees were an all-female garage rock band formed in the early 1990s, closely associated with the British musician Billy Childish. They were originally a backing group for Childish's band Thee Headcoats and eventually started performing as their own entity. The group consisted of members Kyra LaRubia, Ludella Black, Holly Golightly, and Bongo Debbie, each adopting a playful stage name. Their music was characterized by its raw, lo-fi sound and was influenced by classic 1960s garage rock and R&B. Thee Headcoatees gained a cult following in the UK underground scene and were known for their energetic live performances. They released several albums throughout the 1990s before disbanding. Notable albums include "Ballad Of The Insolent Pup," "Here Comes Cessation," and "The Sisters Of Suave," which showcased their distinctive blend of punk attitude and retro musical stylings.
