The Silhouettes

The Silhouettes

Emerging Indie Pop Group

The Silhouettes were an American doo-wop group best known for their hit single "Get A Job," released in 1957. The group formed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the early 1950s, and originally consisted of members Bill Horton (lead singer), Raymond Edwards (bass), Earl Beal (baritone), and Richard Lewis (tenor), who also wrote the lyrics for "Get A Job." The song became an anthem for the era and is often cited as a classic example of the doo-wop genre. It reached number one on both the Billboard pop and R&B singles charts.
