The Pop Group is an English post-punk band that was formed in Bristol in 1977. The band is known for its eclectic and experimental style, which blends elements of punk, funk, noise, and dub. The group's politically charged lyrics and radical approach to music set them apart from their contemporaries. They released their debut album "Y" in 1979 to critical acclaim, with its innovative sound influencing a wide range of musical genres. Despite their initial success, The Pop Group disbanded in 1981 but later reformed in 2010. They released "Citizen Zombie" in 2015, their first studio album in 35 years, followed by the compilation "The Boys Whose Head Exploded" in 2016, which featured live recordings from the early days of their career.
