The Morwells

The Morwells

Jamaican Reggae Trio

The Morwells, also known as The Morwells Unlimited, were a reggae group formed in the 1970s in Kingston, Jamaica. The band was founded by Maurice "Blacka" Wellington in 1973, with members like Eric "Bingy Bunny" Lamont and Louis Davis. They were primarily known for their harmony vocals and roots reggae sound. The Morwells produced several albums throughout their career, with their music often reflecting the socio-political issues of their time. They worked with notable producers such as Joe Gibbs and King Tubby, which helped to shape their distinctive sound. Despite not achieving the same level of international fame as some of their contemporaries, The Morwells made a significant contribution to the reggae scene during their active years before disbanding in the early 1980s following the death of Wellington.
