The Flying Burrito Bros

The Flying Burrito Bros

Pioneers of Country Rock Music

The Flying Burrito Bros, often regarded as one of the pioneering acts of the country rock genre, was formed in 1968 by Gram Parsons and Chris Hillman after they left The Byrds. The band's debut album, "The Gilded Palace Of Sin," released in 1969, is considered a cornerstone of the country rock movement, blending traditional country with rock and soul influences. Despite never achieving significant mainstream success, their innovative sound has been highly influential, particularly on the development of the Americana and alt-country genres. Following their debut, they released "Burrito Deluxe" in 1970. Over the years, the band underwent numerous lineup changes with Hillman and Parsons eventually departing; however, various incarnations of The Flying Burrito Bros continued to perform and record music into the 21st century. Their legacy is marked by their impact on country music and their influence on a generation of musicians who sought to bridge the gap between country and rock.
