The Count Bishops

The Count Bishops

British pub rock and rhythm & blues band

The Count Bishops were a British rock band, formed in 1975, that became part of the pub rock and punk scenes. Although they were not as commercially successful as some of their contemporaries, they were influential in the transition between the pub rock and punk rock scenes. The band's sound was a mix of rhythm and blues, rock 'n' roll, and garage rock influences. They released their first self-titled album "The Count Bishops" in 1977, which showcased their raw energy and musical style. The group's lineup went through several changes over the years, but they continued to perform and record until the early 1980s. Their live performances were particularly noted for their high energy and tight musicianship. Despite not achieving major chart success, The Count Bishops maintained a dedicated fan base and left a lasting legacy on the UK's music scene before disbanding.
