Charlie Daniels was a singer, guitarist, and fiddler, who began his career as a session musician. He was known for his contributions to country and southern rock music. The band's signature song, "The Devil Went Down to Georgia," which was released on their 1979 album "Million Mile Reflections," became a major hit and won a Grammy Award for Best Country Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group.
