The Buckinghams

The Buckinghams

1960s American Pop Rock Band

The Buckinghams are an American rock band that formed in 1966 in Chicago, Illinois. They quickly rose to fame with their signature pop-rock sound during the mid-1960s. Their most notable hit, "Kind of a Drag," catapulted them to the top of the Billboard charts in 1967. The band's lineup during their peak period included Dennis Tufano on lead vocals, Carl Giammarese on guitar, Nick Fortuna on bass, John Poulos on drums, and Marty Grebb on keyboards and brass. The Buckinghams were part of the American response to the British Invasion and were noted for incorporating brass arrangements into their music, which became a distinctive element of their sound. Despite changes in popular music trends, The Buckinghams have continued to perform and tour over the years with various lineup changes, maintaining a presence in the nostalgia circuit and retaining a dedicated fan base.
