The Boo Radleys

The Boo Radleys

British Alternative Rock Band

The Boo Radleys were a British alternative rock band that emerged from the indie music scene in the late 1980s. Named after the reclusive character from Harper Lee's novel "To Kill a Mockingbird," the band was formed in Wallasey, Merseyside, England, in 1988. The group consisted of guitarist/songwriter Martin Carr, singer/guitarist Sice Rowbottom, bassist Timothy Brown, and drummer Rob Cieka. They gained critical acclaim with their third album, "Giant Steps," released in 1993, which showcased a diverse range of musical styles and was often hailed as their masterpiece. The Boo Radleys achieved commercial success with their fourth album, "Wake Up!" in 1995, which featured the hit single "Wake Up Boo!" The band continued to release albums throughout the 1990s but never quite replicated the success of their mid-decade peak. They disbanded in 1999 after releasing their sixth album, "Kingsize." After a long hiatus, The Boo Radleys reformed without Martin Carr and released "Keep On With Falling" in 2022.
