The Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation

The Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation

British blues rock group

The Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation was a British blues rock band formed in the late 1960s, led by drummer Aynsley Dunbar. Before founding the band, Dunbar had already established himself as a prominent drummer in the UK blues scene, having played with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and with Rod Stewart. The Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation was known for its blend of blues and rock, and they contributed to the late '60s blues revival in Britain. The band released several albums, including their self-titled debut "The Aynsley Dunbar Retaliation" (1968), "Doctor Dunbar's Prescription" (1968), "To Mum, from Aynsley and the Boys" (1969), and "Remains to Be Heard" (1970). After the group disbanded, Aynsley Dunbar went on to have a successful career as a session musician and joined other notable bands such as Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention and later Journey, contributing to their rise in the rock music scene. His work has been influential in rock and blues genres, showcasing his versatility and skill as a drummer.
