The 23rd Turnoff

The 23rd Turnoff

1960s British Psychedelic Pop Band

The 23rd Turnoff was a British band that emerged from the 1960s Liverpool music scene, named after the exit on the M6 motorway that led to Liverpool. The group was led by singer-songwriter Jimmy Campbell, who was previously a member of The Kirkbys. The 23rd Turnoff's sound was characterized by a blend of psychedelic pop and folk influences, which distinguished them from the Merseybeat style that had dominated Liverpool earlier in the decade.
