Surfer Blood is an American indie rock band formed in West Palm Beach, Florida in 2009. The group gained recognition with their debut album "Astro Coast," released in 2010, which received critical acclaim for its lo-fi production and catchy melodies, drawing comparisons to bands like Weezer and Pavement. The band's music is characterized by its surf rock influences, energetic guitar riffs, and memorable hooks. Following their debut, Surfer Blood continued to build their discography with several more albums, including "Pythons" in 2013 and "1000 Palms" in 2015. They faced personal challenges along the way, including the death of guitarist Thomas Fekete due to cancer in 2016. Despite these hardships, the band has continued to tour and produce music, maintaining a dedicated fan base within the indie rock community.
