Superjoint Ritual is an American heavy metal band formed by Phil Anselmo, Joe Fazzio, and Jimmy Bower in the late 1990s. The band's style is often described as a mix of hardcore punk and sludge metal, with influences from bands such as Black Flag and Eyehategod. Phil Anselmo, best known as the lead vocalist for Pantera, was the frontman and a driving force behind Superjoint Ritual. The band released their debut album "Use Once and Destroy" in 2002, which showcased their aggressive sound and raw energy. They followed up with their second album "A Lethal Dose of American Hatred" in 2003. Despite their initial success and growing fan base, Superjoint Ritual disbanded in 2004 amid internal conflicts and Anselmo's busy schedule with other projects. However, they reunited for live performances in 2014 and have since been active on the touring circuit.
