St. Petersburg String Quartet

Russian Chamber Music Ensemble

The St. Petersburg String Quartet is a world-renowned chamber ensemble originally founded in 1985 in Leningrad, Soviet Union (now St. Petersburg, Russia). The quartet quickly established itself as one of the leading string quartets of its generation, gaining international acclaim for their interpretations of classical, romantic, and modern repertoire. The group's members have included Alla Aranovskaya (violin), Ilya Teplyakov (violin), Boris Vayner (viola), and Leonid Shukayev (cello), although the lineup has seen changes over the years.
