Memphis-Based Soulful Blues Band

Southern Avenue is a Memphis-based band that blends soul, blues, and R&B to create a distinctive sound that pays homage to the rich musical heritage of their hometown. Formed in 2015, the group consists of Israeli-born guitarist Ori Naftaly, who previously had a solo career and competed in the International Blues Challenge; Memphis native Tierinii Jackson, who brings powerful lead vocals; her sister Tikyra Jackson on drums and vocals; keyboardist Jeremy Powell; and bassist Evan Sarver. The band's self-titled debut album, "Southern Avenue," was released in 2017 under the renowned Stax Records label, which has been historically significant in the soul music genre. Their follow-up album, "Keep On," came out in 2019 and continued to showcase their dynamic blend of musical genres. Southern Avenue's music is characterized by its energetic performances and authentic soulful sound that resonates with fans of traditional blues and modern R&B alike.
