Snoop Lion is the reggae and dancehall alter ego of the American rapper Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. Snoop Dogg is an iconic figure in the hip-hop industry, known for his laid-back rapping style and his association with Dr. Dre, which helped him rise to fame in the early 1990s. In 2012, after a trip to Jamaica, he announced a conversion to Rastafarianism and a new stage name, Snoop Lion. Under this moniker, he released the album "Reincarnated" in 2013, which marked a significant departure from his usual hip-hop sound. The album features his exploration of reggae music and includes collaborations with artists like Mavado, Popcaan, and Drake. The project was accompanied by a documentary of the same name that chronicled his transformation and immersion into Rastafarian culture. However, this phase of his career was relatively short-lived, and he eventually returned to performing as Snoop Dogg.
