Smif-N-Wessun is a hip-hop duo from Brooklyn, New York, consisting of members Tekomin "Tek" Williams and Darrell "Steele" Yates. They emerged on the scene in the early 1990s as part of the collective Boot Camp Clik, alongside other notable acts such as Black Moon and Heltah Skeltah. The duo's debut album, "Dah Shinin'," was released in 1995 to critical acclaim, showcasing their gritty lyrical content and smooth, soulful production by Da Beatminerz. This album solidified their place in the East Coast hip-hop scene with tracks like "Bucktown" and "Sound Bwoy Bureill."
