Shawn Robinson

While little is known about the background of this American Soul singer who only had a fleeting recording career from the late 1960s into the 1970s. Her first & only single Shawn Robinson (2) - My Dear Heart (1968) on the Minit record label which at the time was under the ownership of Liberty Records based in California, later found popularity among Northern Soul fans in the UK. Following this release she came to the attention of Italian maestro Piero Piccioni for whom she recorded sporadically. Her last release was 'Yes I've Got Designs On You' found on the movie soundtrack Piero Piccioni - Io E Caterina released in 1980. She has also briefly featured in the low key Italian horror film 'Un bianco Vestito Per Marialé (A White Dress For Marialé) (1972)'.
