Scandinavian Jazz Supergroup

Rymden is a Scandinavian jazz trio that consists of Norwegian pianist Bugge Wesseltoft and Swedish rhythm section Dan Berglund on bass and Magnus Öström on drums. Both Berglund and Öström were previously part of the influential Esbjörn Svensson Trio (e.s.t.), which was a pioneering force in contemporary jazz until the untimely death of pianist Esbjörn Svensson in 2008. Bugge Wesseltoft is known for his work within the nu jazz genre and for blending elements of jazz with electronic music. The formation of Rymden brings together these seasoned musicians' rich backgrounds in Nordic jazz, creating a sound that is both innovative and deeply rooted in the jazz tradition. Their collaborative efforts have resulted in albums such as "Reflections & Odysseys" and "Space Sailors," which showcase their ability to craft atmospheric compositions with a modern edge, reflecting their individual legacies while charting new musical territories.
