Norwegian Progressive Rock Band

Ruphus was a progressive rock band from Norway that emerged in the early 1970s. They were known for their complex musical arrangements and a style that incorporated elements of jazz, rock, and classical music. The band's lineup changed several times throughout their career, which was not uncommon for groups in the progressive rock genre. Ruphus released several albums during the 1970s, with their debut album "New Born Day" coming out in 1973. This album, along with "Ranshart" (1974) and "Inner Voice" (1977), showcased the band's evolving sound and musical proficiency. Their work was well-received within the progressive rock community, and they gained a following in Norway and beyond. Despite their initial success and contribution to the genre, Ruphus disbanded in the early 1980s but left a lasting impact on the Scandinavian prog-rock scene.
