Rudi Stephan

Rudi Stephan

German Composer and Rising Star of Early 20th-Century Music

Rudi Stephan was a promising German composer whose career was tragically cut short by his untimely death during World War I. Born on July 29, 1887, in Worms, Germany, Stephan showed exceptional musical talent from a young age. He studied composition with Bernhard Sekles at the Hoch Conservatory in Frankfurt and later with Rudolf Louis in Munich. Despite his brief life—he died at the age of 28—Stephan left behind a small but significant body of work that showcased his unique compositional voice.
