Rogers Covey-Crump

Rogers Covey-Crump

English Tenor and Early Music Specialist

Rogers Covey-Crump is an English tenor, particularly known for his performances of Baroque music. Born on March 24, 1944, he has had a distinguished career as a soloist and as a member of various ensembles. Covey-Crump is perhaps best known for his long association with the early music vocal group The Hilliard Ensemble, with whom he performed and recorded extensively until the group disbanded in 2014. His clear, light tenor voice has been well-suited to the music of composers such as Henry Purcell and J.S. Bach, and he has been involved in numerous recordings that have received critical acclaim. In addition to his work with The Hilliard Ensemble, Covey-Crump has also pursued a solo career, performing and recording a wide range of repertoire from early music to contemporary compositions.
