Richie Furay

Richie Furay

Pioneering Country Rock Musician

Richie Furay is an American musician, singer, and songwriter, best known for his work as a founding member of the pioneering folk-rock band Buffalo Springfield and the country-rock group Poco. Born on May 9, 1944, in Yellow Springs, Ohio, Furay played a significant role in shaping the sound of American rock and country music in the late 1960s and early 1970s. After Buffalo Springfield disbanded, he co-founded Poco with Jim Messina and Rusty Young, contributing to the band's early albums and helping to define the emerging genre of country-rock.
