In the early stages of de Lucía's career, the two artists worked together and released several albums, among which "12 éxitos para 2 guitarras flamencas" stands out. This album, released in the 1960s, showcases their skillful guitar playing and contributed to the popularization of flamenco music. Modrego's partnership with de Lucía played a significant role in the latter's development as a musician, although Modrego himself did not gain the same level of international fame as de Lucía. The work they produced together remains an important part of the flamenco guitar canon.
