Polish Classical Ensemble

The Polish Festival Orchestra is an ensemble that was specially assembled by the renowned Polish pianist and conductor Krystian Zimerman for the purpose of performing and recording Frédéric Chopin's piano concertos on the occasion of the composer's 150th death anniversary. Krystian Zimerman, who is one of the most respected classical musicians of his generation, handpicked the musicians from among his compatriots, aiming to create a uniquely Polish interpretation of Chopin's works. The orchestra's recordings of Piano Concertos Nos. 1 & 2 with Zimerman as both soloist and conductor were highly acclaimed upon their release. The project was not only a tribute to Chopin but also a showcase of Polish musical artistry. After fulfilling its purpose with the recording and subsequent performances, the Polish Festival Orchestra did not continue as a permanent ensemble.
