American Black Metal Band

Pillorian was an American black metal band formed in 2016 by Stephen Parker, John Haughm, and Trevor Matthews. The band emerged after the dissolution of Agalloch, a well-known post-metal band, when Haughm decided to pursue a darker and more aggressive musical direction. Pillorian's music is characterized by a blend of traditional black metal elements with atmospheric and melodic influences. They released their debut album "Obsidian Arc" in 2017 to critical acclaim within the metal community. The album showcased the band's ability to weave intricate guitar work with hauntingly bleak atmospheres. Despite their relatively short existence, Pillorian made a significant impact on the black metal scene before disbanding in 2018. Their musical legacy is marked by their sole full-length release and their intense live performances.
