Phew

Japanese avant-garde singer and experimental musician

Phew is a Japanese singer and avant-garde musician whose real name is Hiromi Moritani. She began her career in the late 1970s as the lead singer of the Osaka punk group Aunt Sally, which was one of the early bands in the Japanese punk scene. After the group disbanded, Phew launched a solo career with her self-titled debut album "Phew" in 1981, which was produced by Conny Plank and featured members of Can, a pioneering band in the krautrock genre.
