Peter King

Peter King is a Nigerian musician, known for his contributions to the Afrobeat and highlife music genres. He gained recognition in the 1970s with his unique blend of jazz, highlife, and funk rhythms. King attended the Trinity College of Music in London, where he honed his skills as a saxophonist and flautist. After his studies, he formed the Peter King Band, which became popular in Nigeria and internationally. His album "Miliki Sound" is celebrated for its innovative approach to highlife music, while "Omo Lewa" further cemented his reputation as a skilled composer and band leader. King's music often reflects the social and political issues of his time, and he is regarded as one of the pioneers who helped shape the sound of modern African music.
