Pete Doherty is an English musician, songwriter, actor, and poet, best known as the co-frontman of the garage rock band The Libertines, which he formed with Carl Barât in 1997. The band gained critical acclaim and a dedicated following with their debut album "Up the Bracket" in 2002 and their self-titled second album in 2004. Following The Libertines' initial breakup due to Doherty's personal struggles with drug addiction, he formed another band called Babyshambles, which released several albums including "Down in Albion" (2005) and "Shotter's Nation" (2007). Doherty has also released solo work; his debut solo album "Grace/Wastelands" came out in 2009. Known for his poetic lyrics and tumultuous lifestyle, Doherty's career has been marked by both critical success and public controversy. He has reunited with The Libertines several times over the years for tours and new music releases.
